LEED-H (homes) Coming soon to Canada

Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) have just posted a call for volunteers to fill committees on Homes and Neighbourhood Developments to help direct the CaGBC to provide green building rating systems for these areas in future. This will most likely be based on the US Green Building Council pilot project for homes and then customized for Canada similarly to the way LEED-NC was developed and adopted. Should Canada always piggyback on the USGBC developments? Most likely for economic motives this is the method CaGBC choses but my fear is that we may be slowing down development for both the US and Canada. If we Canadians took a proactive involved partnership role along side the US, development would be much more rapid.
